Redline Successful in Patent Challenges!

Recently, the US Patent and Trade Office ruled in greatly reducing the claims of a competitor’s patents.  Redline Detection’s successful re-examination challenge resulted in the USPTO  reducing the patent so that it is only valid in a very limited scope.  Previously, the patent covered a vast body of applications with very few limitations.  The USPTO ruling effectively gutted the competitor’s patent so that it applies only when testing a fuel tank.  This is important because it opens up the use of nitrogen when smoke testing in high pressure scenarios such as industrial, aeronautics, and air brake systems.
