Alex Parker Returns as Celebrity Judge on SEMA Launch Pad Competition
Orange, Calif., July 22, 2022 - Redline Detection, the world’s leader in diagnostic leak detection technology, announced today that owner Alex Parker has returned for a second season as a celebrity judge on SEMA Launch Pad. The legendary competition gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their automotive-related inventions to a panel of industry leaders for a chance to win a grand prize package valued at $92,000.
Alex brings to the judging panel real world experience, having built a business from startup to global industry leader in 160 countries. Redline Detection’s award-winning diagnostic leak detection technology is used by the world’s leading OEMs, and Redline was named SEMA Manufacturer of the Year in 2020.
Parker returns to Launch Pad alongside fellow celebrity judges Chip Foose (Foose Design), Jared Hare (Addictive Desert Designs), and Myles Kovacs (TIS Wheels). These four successful industry icons will mentor the 15 semifinalists, who recently met at the SEMA Garage in Diamond Bar, CA where contestants pitched their product ideas. Over the next several months, the judges will continue to learn about the competitors’ products, asking tough questions and providing valuable feedback.
“This year’s SEMA Launch Pad competition is fierce,” said Parker. “The judges were blown away by the level of innovation, creativity, and sheer grit that these competitors brought. Their passion and their products are so inspirational, each of these competitors should be very proud.”
The 15 semifinalists will attend the SEMA show in November, where they will each receive a complimentary booth in the SEMA Launch Pad Pavilion, and the top five finalists will appear on stage during the SEMA Show. The winner will be crowned at the SEMA Industry Awards Banquet and the competition will be featured in a nationwide TV special airing after the SEMA Show.
